Last Day

Today is our last day in Grand Lake, CO. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back next year or sooner. Here are a few more pictures from our trip.

Winter Park, Estes Park, and the Hospital

Thursday we went to Winter Park and walked around and let Aiden play on the play ground. He wanted to take the lift up to the top with the mountain bikers and the Alpine slide, but the idea of holding him for ten minutes while we went up the mountain wasn't something I was willing to do just yet.

Yesterday was a little more exciting we drove to Estes Park and through Rocky Mountain National Park. We all climbed up to the top of the mountain by the visitors center. Aiden decided that he would assert his independence and walk all the way up and down with very little help, so it took a while to get up and down. After hiking the mountain we went to Estes Park and walked by the river and Aiden even got in and splashed around. After walking around all day we headed back to the car and that's were the hospital comes in. Travis's mom was walking behind us and fell because of a bad hole in the sidewalk. She's okay she only broke her finger, but it did require a trip to the Estes Park Medical Center. Hopefully she won't have to have surgery when she gets back to Tampa. Other than that little bit of excitement we had a really fun day.

The Colorado River runs through Estes Park and they have a shops set up along the town. One of the places Aiden was able to get in and see how cold the water was.

Our Hike

We took a short hike today to a waterfall. Aiden was a trooper and walked the whole way, which was about a mile. The weather is beautiful up here and we can play outside without worrying about getting a heat stroke. Aiden has also found a new hobby of throwing rocks into the water. He will find rocks as we're walking on the trail and save them until he gets to the water, even if that means sacrificing his body when he falls down.

The Mover's Came

The mover's finally came yesterday morning and we got everything unpacked. Aiden loved seeing the BIG truck pull up to the house and watching them unload.

We all got beds to sleep on, but Aiden. He still gets to camp out on the floor. This is his sleeping position.

We are having a great time here. Aiden loves to go walking around the house and checking everything out. I've finally figured out how to get him to take a long nap, let him take a half mile hike and he'll sleep for over two hours.

Colorado

Here are Aiden and Granddad playing video games at the resturaunt after we got to Grand Lake.

On the Plane to Denver

Saturday we flew to Denver to spend the week with Travis's family. Before we got on the plane we had a little lunch in the airport.

Aiden loved looking out the window before we took off. He was waving at one of the flight crew on the ground and he saw Aiden and waved back.

We were really worried about Aiden being on the plane for two hours with no where to go, but he did great. We read books, colored, played with Uncle Ryan, and blocks and he was entertained the whole time.

Gavin Crawls

My little nephew Gavin started crawling tonight. I thought he would do it while we were gone next week, but we were in luck. This means that we have two mobile little boys at my house now, so we are all in trouble. I'll post some video of him later.

A Trip to the Zoo

Since it has been raining all week, we decided that we would take the boys to the zoo today. Aiden really enjoyed looking at all the animals and making their sounds.

This was about the time we also thought about a nice dip in the pool.

We are leaving for Colorado tomorrow afternoon and we packed Aiden's suitcase and carry on last night. Of course he wanted to help and got into the suitcase.

Tomorrow should be an interesting day. We fly out of DFW at 1:30 and get to Denver at 3:30. Then we get to get in the car and drive for two more hours all without a nap. We have been looking forward to this trip all summer and can't wait to see Grams, Gramps, and Ryan. Travis will have his laptop so I'll get to post pictures while we are gone.

Silly Boys

Aiden found a tupperware bowl and decided to put it on his head and Daddy's.

We had a little trouble getting it off Aiden's head because he pushed it down really good.

Gram's and Granddad bought Aiden Christmas pj's last year that were a little to big at the time. We tried them on last night and they fit prefectly, too bad it's 100 degrees outside.

A Little Bit of Nothing

We haven't been up to much lately, just trying to say cool in all the heat. Aunt Lauren and Gavin are here and we're having lots of fun with them.

What a sweet cousin Aiden is. Most of the time. We have to be careful because Aiden likes to play rough and doesn't realize he's a lot stronger than Gavin.

Aiden loves to put on shoes and it doesn't matter whose they are. He found a pair of Lauren's heels the other day and not only put them on, but walked around in them.
